What installers reorder most
The consumables that run out first during an install season, in case quantities.
A supplier for the whole install season
A Christmas light installation business runs on a short list of parts used over and over: LED C9 bulbs, C9 socket wire, clips, slide-on plugs and photocell timers. Christmas Lights Supplier stocks those parts in the quantities installers actually go through, from a 25-pack of bulbs for a re-lamp to a 500-bulb case for a commercial roofline, and ships every order the same day it's placed.
Consumables and reusables
It helps to sort inventory into two groups before ordering.
Reused every year
LED C9 bulbs, socket wire runs that were cut to a customer's rooflines, LED mini strands and photocell timers usually come down in January and go back up the next season. Losses come from breakage, weather and runs that get re-cut for a new layout. Plan to replace a share of these rather than the whole set.
Used up on every job
Clips, shingle tabs, slide-on plugs and the wire trimmed off at the end of each run are consumed. Many crews treat clips as single-use because brittle plastic after a winter outdoors is the most common cause of a sagging line. These are the items that set the size of a mid-season reorder.
Buying by the pack or the case
Most items are listed in two sizes. Packs suit top-ups, color matching on a re-lamp and one-off jobs. Cases suit the start of the season, when the job list is known and the per-unit price matters more than the shelf space. The pricing table on this page shows both sizes side by side with the cost per bulb, per clip and per plug, so the break-even quantity is visible before ordering.
Kits and spools
C9 installation kits from 250 to 4,000 ft. bundle socket wire, LED C9 bulbs, plugs and clips for a known footage. They make sense when a new customer's roofline is measured and the order should be one line item. 1,000 ft. C9 socket spools in 12 in. and 24 in. spacing make sense for crews that cut runs to length on site and stock bulbs and clips separately.
Power and control
Every cut run needs a male plug at the power end and a female plug where the next run connects. Plug packs and 1,000-plug cases are listed in plugs, cord and timers, along with lamp cord for leads and photocell timers in singles and 4-packs.
Shipping and returns
Shipping is free on all orders within the US with and every order ships the same day. There are no added fees at checkout. Unused product in its original packaging can be returned within 30 days of delivery, which makes it practical to order slightly over on a case and send back what stays sealed.

Planning reorders across an install season
Running out of clips on a roof costs more than the clips. The crew stops, someone drives for parts, and the next job slides. A simple reorder plan keeps that from happening. It takes about an hour before the season starts and a few minutes each week after that.
Step 1: Count what's on the shelf
Before the first job, count every consumable in the shop and in each truck: bulbs by color temperature, clips by type, male and female plugs, replacement sockets, and feet of socket wire left on open spools. Write the counts down by item, not by box, so a half-used case isn't counted as a full one.
Step 2: Turn the job list into usage
For each booked job, convert footage to parts. At 12 in. spacing a run uses one bulb and one clip per foot; at 15 in. spacing it uses about 0.8 of each. Every cut run needs one male and one female plug. Add about 5% to clips for breakage and corners. Total the parts across the job list and subtract the shelf count. The difference is the opening order.
Step 3: Set a reorder point for each item
A reorder point is the shelf count that triggers the next order. Set it at the parts used in a typical week plus the parts used during the days an order spends in transit. When an item drops to that number, it goes on the next order. Post the reorder points on the shop wall or in the shared job sheet so anyone loading a truck can flag a low item.
Step 4: Decide pack or case by item
Buy cases of anything used on nearly every job, usually one or two bulb colors, all-in-one clips or O-clips, and plugs. Buy packs of anything used on only a few jobs, such as specialty bulb colors, magnet clips for metal fascia or stakes for walkways. Current prices for both sizes:
- C9 LED bulbs (One per socket; re-lamps): 25 for $19.95 · 500 for $319, $0.638 per bulb by the case
- All-in-one clips (Shingles and gutters): 100 for $17.99 · 3,000 for $549, $0.183 per clip by the case
- C9 O-clips (Wire mounting on gutters and edges): 100 for $23.75 · 1,000 for $228, $0.228 per clip by the case
- Shingle tabs (Under-shingle mounting): 100 for $19.95 · 1,000 for $219, $0.219 per tab by the case
- Magnet clips (Metal fascia and awnings): 100 for $79.99 · 2,000 for $1,545, $0.772 per clip by the case
- Male plugs (One per cut run): 50 for $49.99 · 1,000 for $699, $0.699 per plug by the case
- 8 in. light stakes (Walkways and beds): 25 for $21.50 · 250 for $199.95, $0.800 per stake by the case
- Photocell timers (One per circuit): 1 for $11 · 4 for $43, $10.75 per timer by the case
Step 5: Keep a service reserve
Hold back a small reserve that never goes out on install jobs: a 25-pack of each bulb color, a pack of replacement sockets, a pack of each plug and a pack of the main clip type. Service calls on runs already installed draw from the reserve, and the reserve is restocked on the next order. That keeps a repair from quietly eating the parts set aside for Thursday's install.
Kits versus parts when reordering
When a new customer's footage is measured, a kit can be faster to reorder than parts because it arrives as one item sized to the job. For crews cutting runs to length from spools, parts are easier to track against reorder points because every item is counted the same way.
Mid-season and end-of-season
- Weekly: compare shelf counts to reorder points and place one order for everything at or under its point.
- After a large commercial job: recount bulbs and clips. Large jobs drain stock faster than the weekly rhythm expects.
- At takedown: sort returned bulbs and runs, discard brittle clips, and count what's left. Unopened packaging can be returned within 30 days of delivery, so check dates on anything still sealed.
- Before storage: write down next season's opening counts. That list becomes Step 1 next year.
Every order ships the same day with free shipping and so a reorder plan can lean toward smaller, more frequent orders instead of tying up cash in a full season of stock on day one.
Questions
How often should I reorder during the season?
Most installers place one large order before the first install and smaller top-ups as the job list fills. Because every order ships the same day and shipping is free with a small mid-season order costs nothing extra to send.
Can I mix pack and case sizes in one order?
Yes. Order a case of the bulb color you install most and 25-packs of the colors you only use on a few jobs. Each item is priced on its own.
Do I need an account to see case prices?
No. Pack and case prices are listed on every product page and in the pricing table above. There's no sign-up, application or login.
What should I keep in stock for re-lamps and repairs?
A 25-pack of each bulb color you install, a pack of replacement sockets, a pack of male and female plugs and a pack of the clip types you use. That covers most service calls on existing runs.
Can I return a case I didn't open?
Yes. Unused product in its original, intact packaging can be returned within 30 days of delivery. Request the return before sending anything back.
How much does shipping cost?
Shipping is free on all orders to the contiguous United States, with no order minimum.
When will my order ship?
Every order ships the same day it's placed, whatever time you order. There's no cutoff.
Can I return items I don't use?
Yes. Unused, uninstalled product in its original, intact packaging can be returned within 30 days of delivery. Request the return before shipping anything back.
Which clip do I need?
All-in-one clips fit shingles and gutters. Ridge clips mount along roof peaks. Tile and extended fascia clips are for tile roofs and deep fascia boards. Magnet clips hold to metal surfaces, and light stakes place C9 or C7 bulbs along walkways and beds.
What are sun warm, warm, pure and cool white?
They describe color temperature. Sun warm white (about 2600–2800K) is the most amber, closest to incandescent. Warm white (about 2800–3200K) is the traditional soft white. Pure white (about 4000–4200K) is neutral, and cool white (5900K and up) has a blue tint.
